Lamar, a former slave's fight to regain her freedom in 1847, and a lawsuit involving the construction of Hermann Hospital, which is considered the start of the Texas Medical Center.
A collection of these and other historic documents dating from 1837-1925 is available for public viewing in the District Clerk's Historic Document Reading room in Room 200 of the Harris County Civil Courthouse at 201 Caroline.

Loren Jackson, Harris County District Clerk, spoke at the Tomball Rotary Club meeting on June 3 to inform club members about District Clerk's Office technology that will allow the public to access information from home or the office, saving trips downtown.
